Creating a new Christmas streetscape identity with a distinctly Australian feel
The City of Perth wanted new Christmas street pole decorations that would maintain the city’s festive atmosphere while giving each street its own sense of character.
The concept needed to feel visually strong during both day and night, while creating a cohesive story that could endure across multiple festive seasons.
A festive design language inspired by Australian identity and energy
Visual Inspirations drew on the iconic seven-pointed star and other traditional Christmas motifs to create a uniquely Australian holiday story that would bring a sense of unity and joy to the city. The design was also influenced by the vibrant energy of music, incorporating frequency-wave-inspired forms to add movement and character to the streetscape.
Each motif was designed to feel eye-catching in daylight and come to life at night through sparkling LED illumination.
